Despite the current weather they say ‘Queensland, beautiful one day, perfect the next’ and yet Melbourne at times, cops the heading above ‘Four seasons in one day’.  I’m not sure which quote matches where your life situation is right now, yet for many of us, life can feel more like Melbourne weather.

This can be said for our students also as they all navigate these final weeks.  The day to day of relationships, exams, assessment, final events for the year, saying goodbye, decisions for next year and the anticipation of what the new year brings, can all feel like four seasons lived at once.

From my experience this year the following bible verse rings so true.

‘He has made everything appropriate in its time.’ Ecclesiastes 3:11

I could never have predicted how this year has played out, with family crisis and loss, the joy of our son’s wedding, the birth of our grandchildren and my personal health struggles.  It truly has been a year of four seasons.  A great friend pointed to the following devotional based on this verse and the importance of God’s faithfulness in whichever season you are in.

“Sometimes we’re on top of the mountain, other times the mountain is on top of us. But whether at peak or trough, God’s law of wave mechanics functions—for our benefit. ‘There is…a time to weep (trough), and a time to laugh (peak); a time to mourn (trough), and a time to dance (peak).’ (Ecclesiastes 3:1;4) While it’s more fun to laugh than weep, ‘He has made everything appropriate in its time.’ Relax. God, who is Alpha and Omega, determines the seasons of your life. Whichever one you’re in, the Word for you today is: ‘My grace is sufficient for you.’ (2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV)”

Whatever your season, know you are loved and treasured by God and allow Him to provide for you.  Your Mueller community is here for you also, so please, as we journey these next few weeks, let us walk with you and your family, pray with and for you, mourn with you through your trials and rejoice in your wins.

Be blessed!
