Mueller College students arrived at school on Monday to a sea of orange to celebrate the annual ‘You Belong Week.’ Students arrived receiving motivational wrist bands ready for a week full of fun and cool activities. You Belong week is to make sure everyone feels like they belong to the school and is a week to say no to bullying. During the week children could listen to wonderful bands that sing encouraging songs to give them hope, take on their teachers in sporting contests and were even given free hot dogs, complete with an orange serviette, thanks to the wonderful cafeteria staff.

Some other highlights of the week were getting out of class to jump on a jumping castle and dunking the teachers in a dunk tank. Piper, a Year 6 student said “I liked the dunking because everyone gets involved and it is great to dunk your teacher.” It was great when the students standing close also got saturated. The best thing about the week was that all the money raised was going to the World’s Greatest Shave. On Friday some courageous teachers and high school students volunteered to shave or colour their heads. “You belong week to me means to encourage people to make new friends and have a good time raising money for people who need it,” said Beau from 6 Red. It was great seeing students from all over the school having fun and learning about empathy.
