3 Orange students have been practicing identifying variables in Science. For deeper insights into curriculum skills and to encourage school core values, the Year 7 buddies joined the Year 3s as they completed a bubble experiment. The aim of the experiment was to find the ideal ratio of water to soap to create the longest ‘bubble snake’. Buddy classes enabled the Year 3’s to observe and practice more sophisticated methods of conducting the experiment. The Year 7’s were given opportunities to articulate their thinking and take on responsibility and care for others. While creating a mess of bubbles and soap, students were given opportunities to thrive and learn through this hands-on, partnership approach to learning. The soap even gave the ground an extra clean as students were creating their bubble mess and running around ‘scrubbing’ the ground; creating a clean mess as they went.

Thanks for sharing your experiment with us Year 3!
