It is always a sweet sight to see our older students interacting with the younger ones. This week Mr Harris’s Year 7’s were buddied up with Miss Irwin’s Year 1 students to do reading together for the first time this year.
The partners will remain together for the year and each week, take turns reading through their chosen book. For the Year 1 students, this is an opportunity to get more one-on-one assistance as they read and they get to experience the older students modelling fluency, phrasing and expression. Conversely, the Year 7’s get an opportunity to practice responsibility and foster their leadership skills.
