Senior Recreational Studies students have been partnering with younger Year levels this term to lead their PE lessons. As part of their assessments, Senior students create a weekly lesson plan for the younger classes that needs to build skills, engage growing minds and use age-appropriate terminology and instruction.

This week we followed the Year 12 class as they led some Preps through some basic AFL skills. Designated students observed the lesson to give feedback to classmates and evaluate the success of each activity.

Seniors were well and truly kept on on their toes, sometimes making changes to their program on the fly as they realised the planned activities weren’t as easy as they’d hoped with a group of five and six-year-olds! But the Preps certainly enjoyed the interaction with the older students and the Seniors led the little ones well.
