The Year 8 Chinese classes have been finding their way around directions words this term. What better way to assess them than with group scavenger hunts? The students were faced with a whole page of Chinese characters and were able to translate the instructions into English and follow them to find clues around campus.

They also participated in some chilled activities: creating Chinese lanterns, kicking Chinese Jianzi (like a feathered hacky sack) and competing in a 1-minute speed skipping competition. Our winner on the day skipped 150 times in 1 minute! Incredible!

It was all wrapped up with a Chinese lunch, and as far as tests go, was deemed a fun alternative. The Year 8s did a great job, on the day and all through the term, to master these word.
