This week we talk to teacher Mr Rodney Everitt, one of our longest-serving staff members at Mueller. Mr Everitt has been joyfully torturing teaching maths in the Secondary school since the early years of the college and we asked him to tell us a little bit about how things have changed over the years…

How many years have you been teaching at Mueller?

I have been teaching at Mueller since 1996.

What has kept you here for so long?

The good behaviour of the students; the gospel-focused ministry; the great staff to work with.

Tell us one of the biggest changes you’ve seen in the school from when you started to now.

The most significant changes have been in the building projects that have constantly gone on. I can remember when D block quad was rubble and the ovals were not much better. No S block, K block, C block, H block, J block, L block, G block, M block, MPAC, LSC,  Q block, …….

Any highlights from over the years?

Highlights would have to be seeing so many of the students succeed in life after Mueller, and so many go into ministry as well. Seeing Mueller establish itself as a vital part of the community would be another highlight for sure.
