Last week our Year 11 Film, Television and New Media students had the opportunity to participate in a workshop focusing on special effects make-up with industry professional, Taylor Manic of Manic Makeup. Over the course of the day, they worked on creating realistic bruising and blistering before moving on to cuts, gashes and even some particularly convincing work with fork impalement.

Though they looked a little worse for wear by the end of the day, all reports say they had a great time experimenting with this niche facet of the industry. Each student received their own kit to take home to continue practising.
