This week we meet brand new Secondary teacher, Bella Greaves…

What brought you to Mueller?

I have a close family member who has had fantastic experiences at Mueller. I took the opportunity to apply here when a position opened up after hearing about the really positive and authentic school culture.

What is your current role?

I’m a Humanities teacher! I mostly teach History, with a little bit of Geography thrown in.

What are you most passionate about in teaching/your role?

I love the Humanities because of the broad scope of skills involved in studying it –critical thinking, empathy, storytelling, problem solving… I like being able to dive into the stories of History and imagine what it would have been like to live in different times. It’s a subject that really values human connection! There’s so much room for creativity in that space, too.

What was your very first job?

An admin assistant for my best friend’s mum, who was a Speech Pathologist. I worked out of her home office for 9 years, and in all that time I never once brought lunch with me – she always fed me, and in winter she would let me come to work in my slippers! Made it quite a shock when I moved on to a new job!

Coffee of choice?

You can never go wrong with a classic Flat White.
