On Thursday night the Year 10 Drama students presented their annual physical theatre performance: “Grimm Tales”. Using primarily visual storytelling methods demands a high-level of training and physical discipline and these students have spent the whole year so far building to this point.

Traditional fairy stories are a good match for this style, and allow the students to consider their original messages. They were cautionary tales for children, built up from the wisdom of ages, created to warn of the dangers of growing up; messages like ‘don’t stray from the safe path’, ‘don’t be lazy’, ‘don’t chase after vain things like easily-earned gold or beauty’. Through hard work and boundless imagination, Year 10 Drama imparted these warnings stunningly.
