Our team participated in the Opti-minds challenge, which required us to work as a team in the Science and Engineering challenge. The challenge was to create a device that has multiple functions that celebrate belonging.

Without any help from teachers or parents we created a boat with indigenous paintings on it, a moving dragon head, and lights to represent the Chinese lantern festival and the festival of lights. There were also party poppers to represent fireworks as many countries use fireworks for celebrations. The oars of the boat have 18 different flags on them and have one from each continent.

The challenge provided everyone to work together, and we learned teamwork. I learned we can accomplish many things with a team. Overall, this experience was fun, challenging, and interesting.
