The Lion King cast is still working hard on the production with over 100 students spending their Saturday rehearsing this last weekend. We caught up with Lily Brookes (Zazu) and Ever Cunningham (Mufasa) to see what their musical journey has looked like so far…

What is your favourite thing about being in the musical?

Lily – I like the acting, and hanging out with friends, and learning all the lines is fun.

Ever – I enjoy working with all the little kids and being able to be a role model in showing them how to do stuff.

Why should people come and watch The Lion King Jr?

Lily – I think it would be good for kids to see what it’s like to be in a musical and see if they want to do it next year.

Ever – People should come because it’s a really fun way to be involved in the community, and they should see what all these people are putting all their hard work into.

Who are you most excited to watch you perform?

Lily – My friends – they’ve booked the tickets and they’re curious  to see how we do it.

Ever – My friends from church.

What are you looking forward to about the performances?

Lily – I’m mostly excited to see how everyone goes and to see what it’s like to be in a musical at Mueller.

Ever – I’m looking forward to seeing the little kids walk on stage in front of a big audience and lights, and watching them getting to feel what it’s like to perform.
