Year 10 & 11 Food and Nutrition students recently got a close-up look at the journey of food from farm to table. The group first visited Pinata Farms, a family business based at Wamuran known for its pineapple, mango, strawberry and raspberry production. Students got to taste the local produce and learn about the farming process.

They then visited Maleny Food and Co for lunch. Year 11’s were paying particular attention to the offerings at hand because they are tasked with developing a new food product for the store for their upcoming assessment.

Maleny Dairies was the next stop where the group got to hear from professionals in the industry about how the food system impacts the development of food solutions. Getting up close with some calves at feeding time was also a highlight.
