To celebrate International Women’s Day, ‘Cool Aeronautics’, an educational arm of The Royal Aeronautical Society, ran an incursion for Year 7-8 girls called ‘Girls Engineering the Skies‘.

The girls welcomed students from another Aerospace Gateway School and together, listened to talks from Aerospace Engineers before asking some questions of the professionals. They then turned their hand to building, testing, and flying a balsa aircraft in small groups.

The day’s events hopefully sparked an interest in some of our girls to pursue a future in the Aerospace industry,
