Year 1 took a trek to the tuckshop last term with pockets full of coins to spend on a treat.

The classes, who are learning about the value of money, got some real-life experience working out what they could afford with the coins sent from home, choosing from a small pre-arranged selection. Even that proved confusing for some as they spied more favourite treats around the room!

Students then approached the counter and went through the process of paying all on their own. With Preps not privy to the tuckshop, for most Year 1’s the visit was their first opportunity to get the lay of the land and gain some confidence so they will be able to go on their own.
