With so many interruptions to our Music tutoring programs ion the last few years, it is with great joy that we can announce the recommencement of several tutoring programs and scholarships. This article gives you the chance to know two of our specialists as you consider lessons for Semester 2.

Returning Voice and Singing Tutor

Bronte Hargrave has been working with Mueller for several years. She is a voice specialist teacher versatile in Jazz, Soul, RnB, Pop, Musical Theatre and worship styles. Bronte studied at the Conservatorium  and has recently completed a Masters in Vocal Pedagogy.

Bronte has taught across Brisbane in private schools, music studios, and in her own private studio.

During her master’s program, Bronte focused her final research project on assisting Worship Leaders to understand vocal technique and help them implement this into their own voice, worship leading, and worship teams, to sustain good vocal health.

Bronte is a passionate performer, songwriter, and worship leader in her own church. She is actively working towards releasing her own worship music in the coming year.

“I love that I get to work in a place where I can live out my faith and share it so openly with others. I hope that in my tutoring of students they can learn not only how to use their voice, but also grow in their own desire to use their gifts for the Lord.”

New Piano tutor

Rochelle Lawson joins us for the start of Term 3. Teaching Piano since leaving High School, she has qualifications in both Education and Music with a focus on piano. Her versatile skills allow her to teach beginners as well as highly advanced students. Rochelle is a strong advocate of students undertaking AMEB exams and joining ensembles to hone their skills. She has been part of church worship teams for many years.

“The most important thing to remember is that what students put into piano, they will get out of it. Everything requires hard work and piano is definitely no exception. Practicing regularly is absolutely essential to progress and enjoyment of the instrument.”

Music scholarships

There are two scholarship places available each Semester for families seeking assistance for their children to undertake lessons. Evidence of involvement in Music pathways is helpful in our decision-making.

A new scholarship is also available for students involved in the school’s Worship Band program. This second scholarship is at the discretion of the Principal.

At present, both scholarships are focussed on Piano and Voice training.
