Primary students got a chance to shape the future of the College this week by participating in a Student Design Team to discuss the Primary Playground Masterplan. With the aim of building a new playground in 2023, two willing students from each class were tasked with funneling ideas from class discussions into the group.
They first surveyed the current playgrounds, writing down what they like, what could go, and what could be improved. Attention then turned to ideas for the new playground and there was much spirited discussion about a potential location, dream equipment & activities, and what the age-group scope might be.
Finally, the students had an opportunity to design the ideal playground, using their class’s ideas. The Primary leadership team has collected all of their plans and will use the student input to help steer future planning. With all the creativity and imagination in the room, we can’t wait to see what it all looks like in 2023!
