The sun was out, the air was crisp, the oval was dry, and the students were pumped for the Secondary Athletics Carnival last Friday. There was plenty of team spirit with many embracing the opportunity to dress up in a ‘summer’ theme. While some were there to enjoy the atmosphere of the day, others were there for the serious sporting competition.

The age groups rotated through track and field events over the course of the day, stopping to be powered up by the food stall raising funds for ‘Hampers for the Homeless’ for lunch. Some of the Arts students entertained with singing interludes while the sack race and tug of war novelty events brought the fun factor.

The day concluded with the 100m event, with the whole crowd gathering to frantically cheer the competitors on. For the Year 12’s it was particularly special to participate in their last sports carnival and they commemorated it with a group photo at the end of the day.

Stay tuned for the announcement of Age Champions in the weeks to come.
