As part of their studies in portraiture, Year 10 Vizarts students have studied the work of Renoir and Van Gogh as well as eight key photographic styles. Now they are looking at portraiture in Contemporary Art.

Researching the works of Solomon Island artist, Samuel Tupou, and Chinese activist Ai Wei Wei, students saw how an everyday material like Lego can be used to make art ideas accessible to a wide audience. Restricted to a standard Lego board, students created their own portraits. See if you work out who some of them are. Influences included online characters from Disney, ‘Stardew valley‘, and their own photography of friends and family.
