EWAN JORDAAN

.

Year 7 student, Ewan Jordaan recently competed at the Gymnastics National Championships representing Queensland.

After only being back at training for 3 weeks after recovering from a broken wrist, Ewan pulled through to achieve an amazing result taking home third overall in the Level 7 U13 category. The competition saw him achieve National Champion on High Bar, second on Rings, third on Pommel Horse and fifth on Parallel Bars. His efforts helped the QLD team to place second overall.

Fantastic achievement Ewan!

ZAIRE (ALONZO) GRIFFIN

.

The Brisbane North Region Little League Baseball made history in June, punching a ticket to Williamsport, USA and will represent Australia in the Little League World Series.

Year 7 student, Zaire Griffin led his team to a huge semi-final win by striking out 13 players and pitched 90 pitches. Take a look at his strikeouts here. This win gave Brisbane North the opportunity to play in the finals, winning the Australian Nationals. Check out the post-match interview with Zaire below.

This will be the first time that Brisbane North Region Little League makes the trek to Williamsport, second time a team from Queensland earns the honor, and the eighth time a team from Australia will compete in the Little League Baseball World Series after the country gained direct entry in 2013.

Their first game is against Canada in Williamsport at 5pm on August 17 (7am on August 18 Australian time) and matches will be screened on ESPN. We can’t wait to see it Zaire!
