Dear Parents,
The end of the year is on the horizon, so we wanted to share a date claimer with you for the 2022 Mueller College Presentation Night. It will be held on Thursday the 20th of October (Week Three, Term Four), commencing at 6:45pm. This allows it to be held before the Year 12 External Exams commence and for the students to all attend.
The night includes awards across all areas of the school including academics, sport, leadership, and service. It will also feature Arts performances, speeches, and the introduction of 2022 high school student leaders. The Year 6 students have their awards as part of the graduation service in the last week of Term Four so presentation night will include only secondary school students. The Year Six graduation is a highlight of the year and is a special time for students to receive these awards. It will also include some new awards including the George Mueller award for all-round achievement and for the first time a ‘Dux of the Primary School” award.
Our heart is to honour students, however not everyone can get an award. We know that for many of the students winning these awards is a goal and motivation for them to work hard. Hence, a published framework for our decisions is important. The detail of the criteria, for the Mueller Academic Medal, Ampol Allrounder (formerly Caltex), Academic Excellence, Subject awards, and Dux of Middle School and Dux of School are attached. Primary School award criteria will be published later in the year.
The Mueller College Dux and Year Twelve subject awards will be given out at Mega Chapel on the first day of the 2023 school year. These awards can only be given out once all External Assessment has been marked and the results communicated to us.
The plan for Mega Chapel (thwarted by Covid restrictions this year) is to have a dedicated section of the program for the 2022 graduates to be honoured and celebrated. All students and parents would be invited to Mega Chapel and to an afternoon tea function following Mega Chapel.
