Year 9 Geography students made their way to Yandina last week for a visit to the Ginger Factory. They toured the factory, tasted the various ginger products and wandered through the Art installation of umbrellas in the rainforest walk as they investigated the concept of low food miles.

They also went across the road to Nutworks for a brief viewing of the macadamia and chocolate processing plant, and to buy some goodies! Both businesses integrate food manufacturing, food retailing and food tourism. The excursion was a great way to study biomes and local producers (and to celebrate a milestone birthday for Mrs Partridge who said it was the perfect group to spend the day with!).
