There’s a saying that rings true for all parents: having a child is like having your heart walking around outside of your body. As any mother or father knows, the process of raising a child is rich with emotions, uncertainties, joys, and sorrows. We can all agree that being a parent is also one of the hardest jobs in the world. It involves overwhelming responsibilities with not even a manual to guide you. Besides, nobody has yet perfected the art (and science) of parenting. Most have to go by the time-tested adage of trial and error. What unites parents from all over is the overwhelming loving care for their children and the desire to be the best parent for them. It’s no surprise that God’s word is full of parenting wisdom, and understanding, when it comes to the unconditional love (and, also: the worrying, discipline, second-guessing…) that goes into caring for another human.

Psalm 127:3

“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.”

The age old saying “It takes a village to raise a child” is even more true today. At Mueller, you have a village who would love to support you…. We have two chaplains, two counsellors, Co-ordinators and your child’s teacher/s, to name but a few. We would love to partner with you in your child’s life journey. It is our heart to work as a team in the best interests of your child.

Despite its challenges, teaching just like parenting, is also a very rewarding job. Seeing students become more confident, achieving their sporting or academic goals, growing in their faith and love for God and building relationships with their peers and teachers creates a sense of victory in “this village”.

Together, may we give our children the roots to grow and the wings to fly.
