In the first week of the school holidays, Tian and his UQ U16 water polo team battled it out against neighbouring Qld water polo clubs for the Qld State Title. After a 4 day tournament, Tian & his team came out winning gold! Tian was awarded MVG for the U16 tournament.

With a few days rest Tian and selected players for the Australian Men’s Squad were off to Canberra for AIS camp, a 5 day training camp for elite athletes in the making.

Tian arrived back to Brisbane in time for U18s State Titles the following day on the Gold Coast where his team won gold and Tian was again awarded MVG for the tournament. What a successful school holiday! Well done Tian!


Year 8 student, Ewan, competed at the Gymnastics State Championships on the 1st and 2nd of April at the Sleeman Sports Complex.

He came first overall for level 8 under 14’s which makes him State Champion and secured his place in the Queensland team.  He also took gold on all 6 apparatus.  With this achievement, he also secured a place in the Australian Junior future squad which prepares juniors to compete at the Junior World Cup.

Nationals will be held on the 6th and 7th on May. At this stage, he might have to withdraw due to a wrist injury but what a fantastic achievement so far!
