The Academy captains have been chosen not only for their skill, but for their leadership and ability to inspire and motivate their peers. They also have an infectious love for the game. Meet the Mueller Boys Basketball Academy Vice-Captain Miles Perkins.
How long have you been playing basketball?
I started playing competitive basketball when I was in grade 7.
Favourite player or team?
I have been a die-hard fan of the Lakers since I was born.
Embarrassing fail on the court?
Got the ball and confidently scored on the wrong side of the court.
Success story on the court?
We were down all game, we came back and in the final seconds of the game and I hit two free throws to win it.
Why do you love the game?
I love the intensity, competitiveness, physicality and grind of the game. It’s always been a way of socialising, but also gives me a way to take my mind off things and have fun.
Thank you for sharing Miles, and for demonstrating the Academy’s defining characteristics of ‘Hustle and Heart’ so well.
