How amazing is the formation of diamonds? Carbon atoms that are subjected to intense pressure and heat result in brilliant and enduring beauty …. diamonds. A Year Four class performed a song by Hawk Nelson in Chapel. This song compares the work of God in our lives to the formation of diamonds.
“Here and now I’m in the fire – In above my head …
Being held under the pressure – Don’t know what’ll be left.
But it’s here in the ashes, I’m finding treasure.
He’s making diamonds….. Making diamonds out of dust.
He is refining and, in His timing, He’s making diamonds out of us.”
Just as diamonds are formed under immense pressure and heat deep within the Earth’s mantle, the challenges and trials we face in life will shape us into something beautiful and valuable. God works in our lives through difficult circumstances and struggles to refine and shape us into the best version of ourselves. Just as diamonds emerge from the depths of the earth transformed and radiant, we too can emerge from life’s challenges. The pressure and heat that we experience in life can push us to grow and develop, revealing the hidden beauty and potential within us. Like diamonds, we are precious and unique, each with our own brilliance waiting to shine through when we trust in God’s timing and allow Him to work in our lives.
In Isaiah 41:10 God says, “Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” This verse is a comforting reminder that God is always with us, providing us with the strength and support we need during challenging times. God is refining in His timing, and He is making diamonds out of us.
