Year 6 has been exploring a humanities unit learning about migration, refugees and asylum seekers this term. As part of their literature study, the classes have read ‘Detention’ by Tristan Banks to gain insight into a journey most of them have not experienced. Reflecting on their reading, 6 Orange created these beautiful book covers of their own, complete with captivating blurbs.

Their next task is to write a persuasive letter to the Immigration Minister. They will continue to unpack the larger theme of ‘connectedness’ as they learn about each others’ heritage and track on the class map how their paths have interwoven to meet at Mueller.
