The school Savannah kit aeroplane built by students in 2023-2024 has had its inaugural flight and is now undergoing its mandatory 25-hour flight testing, after which it will go on sale. The aviation department plans to continue with kit aeroplane construction using the ICP Savannah S design for the foreseeable future. They envisage taking around 2.5 – 3 years for each iteration; however, this first Savannah only took 20 months.
Our test pilots, Bill and Bruce, say the aircraft is a dream to fly and takes off on a postage stamp. Once again, many thanks to our build mentors, student build team, and Alliance Airlines (particularly Ken).
