Things are heating up in the Secondary Science department, with a high-stakes competition for the students. The recent refurbishment of the science labs has meant there are a lot of fresh, white, blank walls that are calling out for some colour. Students have been tasked with creating a science-inspired artwork, and the winners work will be displayed on the new walls.
The comp was inspired by a colouring-in competition at the end of last year that saw students from all over the school entering some fantastic drawings that were awarded at Assembly last week. An artwork (pictured below) from Year 12 student, Steph Cilliers, was also part of the inspiration. Steph is creating the work for her major assessment piece, creating a large installation depicting laminin – an extracellular protein found in the body.
We look forward to seeing more art soon!
