Book Week has arrived, and this year’s theme is ‘Symphony of Stories’. On Monday, the library was singing with excitement at the opening of ‘Orchestras by Candlelight’ with Primaries donning their bow-ties and flowers to attend the prestigious event! Ushered to their seats by the library monitors, they enjoyed watching orchestral performances from their favourite stories, like Beauty and the Beast.
On Tuesday, the theatre was open again for a special Storytime. Students enjoyed the story ‘Violin and Cello’ accompanied by actual violins and cello’s! Then they went on an interactive Bear Hunt, with each student holding an ‘instrument’ to make the sounds of the story – crunching newspaper as the characters walked through the grass, swishing water bottles as they waded through a river, and tapping drums as they tip-toed through the forest. Then they all ‘ran home’ and hid under the bedcovers!
