WATOTO
Rescue | Raise | Rebuild

Following both Watoto Chapel performances this Friday, merchandise will be for sale in the MPAC foyer. These handcrafts are made by local Ugandan women, under their Watoto Neighbourhood and Living Hope programs.

Income Generating Activities – Living Hope

There are several income generating activities in operation through Watoto that allow women to earn an income by participating in the following productions: tailoring, jewellery and beading, peanut butter, agriculture and horticulture, bee keeping and basic baking.

For decades, women have been the most marginalised and wounded people in Africa. Watoto’s Living Hope works to restore dignity to vulnerable women. Many of the women are left abandoned or widowed, have been victims of human trafficking, left to bear the brunt of AIDS, war and social injustice or are destitute, fearing that their children will soon join the ranks of Africa’s countless orphans. Your purchase will continue to help us care for the vulnerable women of Uganda, empowering them to change their lives and their communities.

Through Watoto Neighbourhood, we are committed to millions of women who bear the brunt of these horrific injustices. Their key needs include housing, healthcare support, employment and education for their children. As we embrace them by meeting their essential needs and empower them to take care of their own families, together we are engaging community for positive transformation.
