HUMANITIES WEEK

We have another amazing graffiti artwork installation created by talented artist, Matt Smidt from Matticulous Art. This installation was created for Humanities Week at Mueller and is completely hand painted.

The Humanities Department have included some alternate program elements to the week…

Tuesday
Today is Day of Notables. All Year 8 students are dressed up as famous people from the Medieval or Renaissance periods. We enjoyed a cake made using medieval ingredients and watch a jousting demonstration.

Wednesday
Year 10’s watch an exclusive screening of ‘For the Love of God’ at North Lakes cinema, with a Q&A with the presenter and director afterwards. The movie looks at what the Church and Christians have done in history.

Years 7-9 will also do activity rotations on various Humanities subjects. They’ll experience consumer rights quizzes, vote in an election, and even participate in a Kung Fu Demo.

Friday
Principal for a Day – we’ll have to wait and see if it will be Aoifa McBride, Isaac French or Mr Mark Blackmore.
