Mueller musical theatre teacher will be sharing his expertise at the Australia Acting Conference!

Jack Bradford, our specialist teacher in Musical Theatre, is flying south to deliver a presentation at the Australian Acting Conference.

Some of you may know Jack from his many years running Brisbane Junior Theatre.  His specialism in creating performance driven projects, particularly his one week musicals during school holidays, has come to the attention of practitioners across Australia and America who are interested in adopting his method.

Fortunately for Mueller we already benefit from his incredible expertise in our Year 7 and 8 Arts Rotation as well as his assistance with our yearly school musicals.

Jack will be submitting the following peer reviewed conference paper for publication in the AusAct journal and speaking on his Australian Theatre Unique Phenomenon as well as being part of a panel on Saturday.

The Unique and Successful Cultural Phenomenon of Brisbane Jr. Theatre’s One-Week Immersive Theatre Practice in the Australian Context since 2001; An Exploration of the Methodologies, Practices, Performance and Training Techniques of Brisbane Jr. Theatre. This paper aims to inform and equip theatre practitioners with unique strategies for producing successful immersive youth theatre.

The paper will define and describe Brisbane Jr. Theatre’s unique cultural theatrical practice; The “One-Week” immersive theatre practice, as well as discuss endurable, consistent and quality theatre practice and the goal of fully resourced theatre as a major contributor to BJT’s success. The paper will continue by describing and exploring BJT’s theatrical values, goals, people, resources and other important elements that have contributed to BJT’s success since 2001.

We wish Jack all the best as he shares his wisdom at the conference at the end of this month.
