Faith + Arts Day

What: A professional development day for Senior Performing Arts students

When: Tuesday 28 August

Where: Mueller Performing Arts Centre

Time: 11am-3:10pm

Vision: Faith in Arts Day is built around the belief that the God of the Bible is an artist and a storyteller, that God cares very deeply about both the Arts and Artists from all traditions and walks of life, and that the Arts are essential to human flourishing. Faith in Arts Day hopes to encourage the journey of young performing artists in their pursuit of creating art that grapples with the indefinable; to create inescapable meaning. This program hopes to achieve this in two ways; through excellence in both practical workshop training and conversation.

Training: Excellence in artistic practice: students will be given the opportunity to choose one of two key masterclasses run by industry leaders.

Conversation: The day will host a keynote speaker who has exemplified artistic excellence in the Arts industry as a part of a gospel-centred-faith lived out daily. This year’s speaker will be Sarah McIntosh.

The aim of our keynote speaker is to give young artists an opportunity to hear insights from a Christian artist working in the field today. This time will also provide opportunity to glean advice on how best to build a career in an industry that does not always have a clear road map to follow.

» God – As creator/lover of the Arts/Showing His Glory through his Artist

» Conversation – Artistry that demonstrates excellence in his field and living faith lived out in the Arts

» Art excellence/Faith in conversation

» Master class workshops from industry leaders and professionals
