The Mathematics Tournament held at Mueller College this year was an opportunity for groups of five students to pit their skills against other teams in one of two divisions.

The divisions were Years 7 and 8 and Years 9 and 10. Three teams in each division competed on the day in the three events that were organised. These events were an individual competition, a team event and then a relay event. Some interesting video clips revealing Maths in the real world were shown in between the events just to give the students minds a break and finally a hands on activity concluded the day.

The scores achieved by the teams in each division ended up being quite close but there always has to be a winner. Each student received a certificate but the winners received more significant prizes. This was the first time we had organised our own tournament and thankfully it seems it was a success.
