Year 10 Industrial students had an opportunity last Monday to attend a ‘Try a Trade’ day at the BIGA training centre at Brendale.

This was a valuable experience for the students that went, gaining a chance to try their hand at Bricklaying, Tiling, Carpentry and Drywall plastering.

With a skills shortage in Australia these students have an opportunity to not only gain employment, but develop skills they can use for many years. Thanks to Mrs Stokes for setting this all up and it is hoped it will become a regular valuable excursion as the training centres usually open their doors to students three or four times a year.
