Last Wednesday and Thursday, Mueller College hosted the annual AGISP (Aerospace Gateway to Industry Schools Program) 2 day conference. Over 30 Aerospace teachers from around the state and industry professionals from organisations such as QANTAS, Virgin, Airbus, Boeing, TAE Aerospace, the RAAF and many more were in attendance.
Teachers found the talks engaging and stimulating with direct classroom relevance. They were able to participate in aircraft drone racing simulation, experience actual flying using indoor drones and foam aircraft, and talk to vendors regarding aerospace and STEM products that might possibly be integrated into classroom lessons. They observed “It’s Rocket Science” fire a water bottle rocket 100m and then were able to construct and fire black-powder rockets on the Mueller Secondary oval!
All in all, it was a very intense yet productive two days of aerospace educational experiences and we look forward to putting into practice all that we have learnt.
