Today we are interviewing our Hospitality and Events Trainer, David Scherer. Many of you would have had a coffee served to you by David in Hudons Cafe. He is a valuable member of our teaching staff and makes delicious coffees that are appreciated by all, thanks for all you do!
How long have you been teaching & what do you teach?
I’ve been teaching for 12 years, not always at Mueller though, a lot of my teaching career has been at TAFE. I teach Hospitality and Events.
What are you most passionate about in teaching?
I am passionate about imparting skills that prepare students for real world jobs. This can often mean a reframing of the way we think and process things so that it aligns with an industry concept and meets customer expectations.
What did you do before working at Mueller?
Before working at Mueller I had two restaurants of my own and I also taught at TAFE. I have spent a lot of my career working as a chef working in Noosa.
