Two of our Primary students have achieved spectacular results in the pool this term after competing in the Speedo SC Swimming Meet. Rylee Smith and Tex Copeland returned to competitive swimming with a bang after Covid shut down their normal schedule earlier in the year, beating their personal best times by 19 and 30 seconds respectfully. This is a significant achievement considering their training pools were shut down for extended periods.  Rylee instead turned to regular open-water swims to train and Tex worked on his cardio performance by doing runs.

Their hard work and consistency obviously paid off with Tex now ranking 10th in Australia for the 200m Individual Medley Short Course for 11 yr old boys and 9th in Australia for 100m Freestyle short course. Rylee now ranks 1st in Australia for 100 m Individual Medley Short Course for 11 yr old girls, 1st in 400m Freestyle Short Course and 1st for 200m Freestyle Short Course.

Year 10 student, Sophie Burger, also had an outstanding achievement this term earning a place on the Triathlon Queensland team.

A hearty congratulations to all three students, not just for magnificent results, but for their exemplary commitment to their sport. They show amazing dedication to train multiple times throughout the week while also navigating their school commitments. Well done Sophie, Rylee and Tex!
