Last week our Business class had an incursion where Chris from the Office of Fair Trading presented to the students about Consumer Rights and Responsibilities. The students learned about ways to pay for goods and how to protect their money when purchasing online.

They participated in several quizzes to determine whether businesses were breaching consumer law in different scenarios, with many students winning fun prizes and competing for the glory of showing off their knowledge about consumers’ rights and responsibilities in situations where products were faulty, did not perform as advertised or where sellers had made false claims about a product.

The students enjoyed the presentation and left with a wealth of knowledge to empower them as consumers. It was an afternoon very well-spent!
