Last week Rock Club had its inaugural meeting at Mueller. Passion project of Mrs Shapland, a long-time enthusiast of all things geological, the club is open for those in Year 6-12 with an interest in rocks, minerals, and gems.
A handful of Year 6 students were thrilled to be meeting in the lab to talk about their favourite rocks and to see a special new item in Mrs Shapland’s collection. They got to delve into the lab’s rock cabinet, holding and marveling at the various items. The enthusiasm hit an all time high when Mrs Shapland hinted that they would get to try her metal detector later in the year (see if you can spot the reaction in the photos!).
