Rylee Smith

Over the school holidays Rylee Smith (year 8) competed at the 2022 Australian Age National swimming championships in Adelaide.  The competition was across 6 days (13th-18th April) with the best 13-17 year old swimmers from all across Australia.  Rylee was competing on the largest stage available to young swimmers.

Rylee became the 3rd fastest in Australia of 13-year-old girls winning a Bronze medal in the 1500m Freestyle.  She swam a massive 19.16 second personal best time across the 30 lap race.  Rylee also competed in multiple other events finishing with the following placings in Australia – 9th Place in 400m Freestyle, 18th place in 200m Backstroke, 24th place in 200m freestyle and 33rd in 200m Individual Medley.  All of Rylee’s races were televised on Amazon Prime with previous Olympians commentating.  It was a wonderful experience for Rylee.

Teagan O’Friel & Harlow Mclennan

Teagan and Harlow recently made the Redcliffe 10-12 yr District Touch Team and competed last Thursday & Friday at the Regional Trials.

It was Teagan’s first teal games of Touch (given that sadly the Term 1 Touch games at school were all washed out) and she did well for a beginner, using her speed at Wing and Link, and most importantly having lots of fun over the 2 days.

Harlow McLennan did an amazing job at Mid and Link which resulted in her being selected for the Sunny Coast team!

Tian Markart

Year 10 student, Tian, has just finished playing in 3 major Water Polo championships over the last 4 weeks including Regionals, the Qld State Titles, and Nationals.

Tian played up, joining the under 18 team in the Qld State Titles and brought home the gold. After competing at Nationals, Tian was selected for the 2nd time this year in the Australian Cadet Men’s Squad and went on their camp for 5 days. Tian is the youngest player to be selected – a phenomenal achievement.
