We are proud to announce that next year’s school play for Secondary is ‘Esther!’ We have devised our own production based on the Old Testament story. Ours will be updated to be a comedy set in a 1980’s corporate office with tunes added from the seventies and eighties.
As the production will be in early May 2023, we are starting rehearsals in Term 4 this year! As a result…
…the play is auditioning next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Morning Tea and Lunchtime. All students in Year 6-22 may audition.
If you are interested in acting or singing, or both, you need to sign up at the Arts Office (D16) and grab an audition sheet. Characters are listed but not all are covered by the audition scripts so just choose a page you feel confident doing.
There’s a list of songs at the back. If you want to be a lead singer (most main characters sing but not all), learn a chorus from one of these songs to sing a Capella at the audition. If not wanting to sing (other than the chorus bits), you don’t need this.
Audition as a group, practice with friends. Remember that the best audition usually gets the part. Be big! Be confident! Be brave!
Final note: those interested in joining the live band need to speak to Mrs Casey while those interested in crew, should write their names down on the audition sheet but also write that they are ‘crew only’.
