The Preppies had some fun last week as they explored the statement, ‘When I grow up I want to be…’

The classes gathered in the morning to hear from some visitors who shared about the highlights and challenges of their chosen field of work. The animal lovers leaned in to hear from a wildlife rescuer who told them about ‘Mueller’ the koala rescued at the back of the school. They then heard from an aircraft maintenance engineer who explained aerodynamics to the wide-eyed crew. The school nurses dropped by to talk about how their job helps people, and some police officers had some help from the mini Prep police force to explain how their role is all about helping people too.

Arguably the best part of Career’s Day is the dressing up. From a Prime Minister in a tiny pink pant suit to a zookeeper in his khaki, a hairdresser wanting to be just like Mum and an engineer wanting to be just like Dad, there were all sorts of careers represented by the students.
