Police have seen a significant rise in traffic complaints in and around school areas, throughout the Moreton District.
At the start of a new term, parents/guardians and teachers alike are reminded to adhere to the parking restrictions relative to your school drop-off and pick-up system, as well as to obey speed signs throughout the school zones. Police have advised they will actively be targeting school zones in the coming weeks and will take enforcement action when offences are detected.
Below are some of the relevant infringement penalties from the Transport Operations Regulations (TORUMS) which may assist some drivers to remember to slow down and make sound decisions on the road to help keep our children safe.
