Maths Club drew a large crowd last week when Youtuber, ‘Tingman’, visited to talk all things cubing. Year 5 representatives were ready with a range of pre-prepared questions – what is his cubing record? (8 seconds!) how many followers does he have? (917,000 so far!), how does maths help him as a youtuber? (there are lots of statistics and analysis in creating a successful channel). Tingman spoke about the challenges of being a youtuber but he most loved to share his faith, telling the students that he strives to reflect Jesus in the way he competes and creates videos.

Primary students, Elijah & Henry, were brave enough to take on Tingman in a cubing race, and they put up a good fight but even with a one-handed disadvantage, Tingman took the win with ease. Reigning Mueller Rubix champ, Year 8 student Ezekiel, also went head to head but couldn’t keep up with the cubing expert in the end.

The group played some maths games and several students came away with special new cube as a prize from Tingman. He then did a live ‘unboxing’, and the room was a flurry as he revealed the biggest commercially made Rubix cube in the world! Take a look below…
