Book Week extends way beyond the costume parade for Primary students with the Library hosting activities throughout the whole week. This year’s theme was ‘Read, Grow, Inspire’ and the Library and its staff took on a garden theme for the week.

There was a clay creation activity on Monday that saw students moulding insects and other creatures you might find in the garden. On Tuesday, the throngs of Primaries came to make their own ‘greenhouse’ by putting a seed in some cotton wool. There were outdoor games and a colouring competition on Wednesday, and the annual epic scavenger hunt brought the Primary crowds to scour every corner of the library on Thursday looking for flowers, bees, ladybugs and other creatures hidden around the space. Friday brought a more chilled movie day, a great way to finish off an epic week of celebrating all things books!

And a big congratulations to our Book Week Competition winners for 2023…
