The Mueller Film Awards, affectionately known as ‘the Miffy’s’, took place during this year’s Arts Festival. Students from Years 9-12 were eligible to have their work featured, and audiences got to see a variety of genres, from Youtube-style clips and music videos to animation and dramatic shorts.

Students were recognised for specific strengths in categories highlighting best editing, writing, acting, directing, and high achievement for each year level. This year’s Best Film Award went to Year 12’s Callie Cox, who wowed with a moving dramatic film. The ‘People’s Choice’ award drew overwhelming votes for Leo Chick’s comical ‘Man-Spider’, with the lead character delighting the crowd when he graced the stage to accept his award.

The evening was not only marked by fantastic creative work, but by a distinctly encouraging atmosphere that saw peers enthusiastically cheering each other as their films debuted. Take a look at the night below…
