One of last year’s most popular new gatherings was Chess Club, which has kicked off again in 2024. Senior students jumped on board quickly, dominating the boards the first week back.
This week the academic prefects wanted to entice more Middle School players to join, so they offered free chocolate for anyone who gets a checkmate. And it worked! The rooms were full, with both novice and advanced players having fun going toe to toe. There is an optional ongoing competition run by Mr Fowles which some choose to participate in, whereas others just like to pop in and play a casual game with friends.
