As part of vocational education certificate courses, students are required to participate within industry realistic environments. The purpose of Christmas in July is to provide an opportunity for students to reach these learning goals while being able to experience real-life workplace situations.

An industry-realistic experience not only strengthens skills, but also prepares students for career life. At the event, the students are guided through job tasks with support and the expectation to perform as a hospitality industry professional. Students doing a Cert. II in Cookery created a delicious three-course Christmas-themed meal, working to the time pressures of plating for almost 150 patrons. Cert. III Events students set the room, creating a fun photo booth space, and welcoming guests. Cert. III Hospitality students expertly navigated the tables to deliver trays full of food and make guests feel at home.

A team of music students set the atmosphere with some smooth festive tunes and plenty of guests brought a touch of their own Christmas spirit – take a look!
